Local Outreach Coordinator
(Place & Presence, Loving What Is In Front Of You)
Do you enjoy talking about the things you love? Building relationship with others? Finding human connections that work? Nexus Church is currently looking for someone to help us be fully present to, and generous with, our local community. We would like to lean into two of our Nexus practices – “practicing place & presence” and “loving locally” – and hire YOU to help connect the Nexus community, both internally and with local opportunities for service/engagement.
As the Nexus Local Outreach Coordinator, you would be hired on for a 42 week contract at 10 hours a week. During this time, you would help us connect internally, with local organizations, public entities, and other churches throughout the year, with a special emphasis on presenting Nexus with up to five unique and meaningful options for local engagement over the course of the year.
Specifics tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Identifying potential social networks and social capital within the Nexus community and working to connect them
- Identifying, meeting with, and potentially partnering with other local organizations on specific initiatives/activities
- Sharing with other churches, organizations, and the city what Nexus is all about, and looking for opportunities for Nexus to plug in to what’s already happening
- Connecting interested Nexus folks with volunteer opportunities (with the opportunity to connect families and children as well)
- Seeking out opportunities for us to better practice place and presence at Nexus

Logistics Coordinator
(Brings Order to the Chaos)
Do people often comment on how organized you are? Can you usually see the big picture as well as all the little things that need to be done to make that big picture happen? Are spreadsheets and post-its your love language? Nexus Church is currently looking for someone to help us manage our many moving parts. We would like to hire YOU to organize our Nexus 2020 vision along with the other day-to-day operations of Nexus.
As the Nexus Logistics Coordinator, you would be hired on for a 42 week contract at 10 hours a week.
Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Communicating directives from leadership & staff to all relevant parties
- Ensuring Nexus logistical details are being handled and executed efficiently by:
- Connecting weekly with the Lead Pastor
- Connecting regularly with staff
- Connecting monthly with Nexus teams
- Facilitating necessary communication between Nexus leaders via email or planning and running meetings when necessary for staff or other relevant parties as needed
- Sunday morning logistics, which would include overseeing a prayer team, interview and announcement schedule, Planning Centre scheduling, coffee, lobby setup, chair set up and take down, mics, batteries, teaching recording
- Overseeing and facilitating all Conrad Centre & TheMuseum contracts
- Soup Sunday scheduling, organization and execution
- Overseeing the Nexus website and Weekly communications
- Overseeing Nexus calendar work, flagging important reminders
- Establishing systems and best practices to help manage logistics effectively long-term
