Winter 2022 Boomerang Groups
For anyone new to Nexus you should know that we don’t have curriculum driven groups that are trying to get everyone on the same page. We are interested in respecting the idea that we are all on our own journeys at different points and we would like to share these with others and hear responses in a non-judgemental setting. The Christian faith is intensely personal and we need the help of fellow travellers along the way.
It appears that all groups will have to be virtual at least for the next month. However, as regulations change there is a chance that groups may transition into “in-person” groups. This transition would only happen if a group unanimously agreed to do this. We will not make any decisions that excludes anyone who starts the group.

“The Work of the People” is a wonderful resource (Nexus has been using for 3 years) that has 100’s of excellent short videos on spiritual formation. All are quite short and very thoughtful and lead to great discussions.
Each evening will be made up of 1 or 2 – 3-6 minute videos from a variety of wise, faithful people. So the evening’s direction is determined by the response of the group to the video.
Subjects such a prayer, silence, the Holy Spirit, forgiveness, compassion, contemplation, wholeness, being loved, detoxing, sabbath, freedom, pain, dying to self, plus more.
2. Podcast Theology

Length: 8 weeks

We will continue our Podcast Theology group this term with a bit of a twist. Usually we are completely open to all topics/podcasts but we would like to focus on “spiritual/personal transformation” this time. In talking with many people almost all express some disappointment in their spiritual growth – so many things in this busy world just seem to get in our way. So we will try to focus on thinking and actions/practices that both help and hinder our quest to grow spiritually. If you are signing up for this group please start recording the topics and podcasts that you have watched that address this focus and share them with us. Each evening is directed by both the podcast and the reaction of the participants to the material and each other. This is a very open forum where questions, opinions, thoughts and doubts can be expressed freely (i.e. no judgement).
